Engineering Department in coordination with On Job Training Department of Shinas College of Technology organized Industrial Visits for exit level students in Mechanical Engineering section on 2nd and 3rd of December 2013. As a part of their program, the students visited Arabian Industries, Jindal Shadeed Iron and Steel LLC and ORPIC. Students were immensely benefitted by these visits as they had the opportunity of observing and understanding firsthand the Safety Procedures that are followed in Industries, operational processes in fabrication and manufacturing of pressure vessels, water treatment plant, Heat Exchangers, different types of steel, marking & measurement techniques, different machineries like CNC drilling Machine, Plasma Cutting, Welding, Grinding, Lathe machining, Painting, Heating Techniques, Machine Shop, Welding Shop, Cutting Shop, Assembling Shop, Painting Shop, Production of Iron by direct reduction method from the Iron ore, different stages of the Iron Production, material handling operations, operation of the control room, the process layout of the petrochemical company, problems encountered during the work, Static and Dynamic equipments like Reactors, storage tanks, heat exchangers, pumps compressors, turbines and air coolers.
