The Engineering Department organized an industry visit to Sohar Aluminium on 4^th October 2023. The visit was attended by 10 Mechanical Engineering B.Tech project students and accompanied by the faculty member in Mechanical Engineering, Mr. Niyaz Ahamed. Upon arrival, Mr. Abdul Aziz Al-kharousi, the Chief Administrator, and Mr. Hilal Masoodi, the Superintendent for the Industrial Training Institute, warmly welcomed the group. They provided an informative lecture on the training facilities available within the training center and introduced the training officers for Mechanical, Electrical, and Instrumentation sections.Mr. Ismail Al-Balushi and Mr. Adil Niyadi, trainers for the Mechanical section, offered insights into coupling and chain drive maintenance and alignment. They also explained the working principles and types of pumps, valves, and bearings used in various industrial applications. In the Electrical section, Mr. Yousuf Al-saadi and Mr. Chandarshekhar demonstrated the usage of electro-pneumatic and electro-hydraulic components for industrial applications. They also shared information about the training courses available for Mechanical and Electrical disciplines, designed to provide hands-on training suitable for entry-level technicians and seasoned engineers in various industries.The students greatly benefited from this visit, gaining valuable insights related to their specialization and a deeper understanding of the industrial work environment. They had the opportunity to explore different laboratories and familiarize themselves with the equipment used for training.
