The Civil Engineering Section of the Engineering Department at UTAS-Shinas organized a highly informative industrial visit to Jindal Shadeed Iron and Steel Company on October 29, 2023. The initiative was aimed at providing valuable insights to the faculty members of the civil section, who are actively engaged in research on the "Experimental study on the usage of Industry wastes in concrete or Asphalt pavement." The four-member team, comprising Dr. Maria Rajesh, Dr. Binumol, Ms. Wasal Khalifa Ali Al Khanbashi, and Mr. Yousuf Salim Hamdan Al Alawi, delved into the industrial processes at Jindal Shadeed Iron and Steel Company. The visit proved to be an integral part of their ongoing research, shedding light on how various wastes generated by the industry contribute to concrete and asphalt pavement.

During the visit, the faculty members had the opportunity to witness firsthand the generation process of each industry waste and understand its physical characteristics. Mr. Jaswinder Singh, Assistant General Manager (Continuous Casting), and Eng. Bushra, Civil Engineer at Jindal Shadeed Iron and Steel Company, led an insightful tour, providing comprehensive information about the plant's different departments and operational functions.
