The Mechanical Section & Industry Link Activities Committee of the Engineering Department arranged an industrial visit for enriching the knowledge of Diploma Mechanical Level Project Students on 29^th January, 2015 to visit Shamal Plastic Industries LLC. In fact, it is a dual company under one roof, a) Gulf Acrylic Industries LLC and b) Shamal Plastic Industries LLC. The main activity of these companies is to manufacture acrylic sheets which can be used as wall, door, window, roof, sign and decorative panels.

On 29^th January 2015, around 8:00 AM, fourteen students of the Diploma Second Year Mechanical Engineering Department, were assembled at the main entrance of the Engineering Building at Shinas College of Technology. Faculty members, Mr. Atchaiah Sastry Kalaga, and Mr. Niyaz Ahamed, both lecturers in the Mechanical Section, accompanied the students for this industrial visit.

Around 9:00 AM the college vehicle reached the visiting company and assembled at the reception hall of the company in orderly way. The company officials issued sets of safety goggles and safety ear plugs for protection from sound pollution. The company DGM, Mr. Nitin Kulkarni, greeted and encouraged students. Mr. Sunil and Ms. Ameena guided students to various sections like the raw material storage, material process, production unit, finished goods storage, preparation of packing for dispatch and the laboratory facility for quality assurance. At each and every section, students showed interest and actively asked questions to satisfy their curiosity. At the end of the visit, the company arranged snacks and fruit juices thereby making students comfortable. Students thanked the company officials and returned the safety goggles given to them.

In a nutshell, the visit was successful in all areas and succeeded in giving the students a moral boost to improve their studies.
