Along with Dr. Mahammed Al Washahi, 26 Electrical engineering students enrolled in Power Plant Engineering course in B. Tech Mechanical Engineering visited Madha Power plant, Madha on November 11, 2015.

The visit aimed to familiarize the students with a diesel power plant. Mr. Edward , Mr. Nassir and engineer Mohammed Al-Shihi explained the production of  electrical power using  diesel generators to the students.

During the site visit, the Madha Power plant engineers started with safety instructions and then explained power generation from diesel unloading until the transmission of the produced electrical power to Willayat Madha.

In addition, the Madha Power plant engineers showed the students the start-up procedures, isolation and normalization of the electrical systems.

The students got a chance to see different engineering equipment such as: pumps, valves, heat exchangers, diesel generator, electrical breakers, bus-bar, flow transmitters and transformers.

The Engineering Department, in association with the OJT department of the college arranged the students’ industrial visit.
