The Civil Engineering Section of the Engineering Department commenced its weekly short-term courses for the students last Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at Room E224, Engineering Building from 8 AM 12 AM. This training aims to provide hands-on training and to update the knowledge of students in meeting the current needs of the country. Initially, two short-term courses were conducted namely: AutoCAD and Engineering Surveying. The AutoCAD course is conducted every Wednesday from 8 10 AM at E224. This course aims to improve the computer skills of students and to train students on the use of AutoCAD software for Civil Engineering applications. A group of 33 students was assigned for the training under the supervision of Mrs. Sumitha Manu of the Civil Engineering Section. Whereas, the Engineering Surveying course is conducted every Wednesday from 10 12 AM at E104. The course aims to develop the engineering surveying skills of students in linear and leveling surveys, measuring angles and setting up and setting out of small buildings, using the latest technology. A group of 31 students was registered under the supervision of Mr. Muhammad Ashfaq of the Civil Engineering Section. The selfless effort of the faculty members for the conduct of this program is well acknowledged and appreciated by the teaching and student community of the Engineering department.
