The Engineering Department in coordination with the On Job Training Department of Shinas College of Technology organized Industrial Visits for exit level students in Electrical Engineering section on 18th, 19th and 24th of November 2013. During the program the students visited Sohar Power & Desalination Plant, Majan Electricity Company and Wadi Al Jizzi Power Plant. Students were benefitted with the visits as they had a chance to observe and understand safety procedures that are followed in industries, power generation concepts using gas turbines & Steam turbines in unison, water desalination process using Multistage Flashing (MSF) & Reverse Osmosis, overall control network operation done by Majan, maintenance, backup of main server system, operation of SCADA (Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition) system and PLC (Programmable Logic Control) system.
