Diploma and Advance Diploma level Civil Engineering students visit New English Language Building at ShCT
An industrial visit to the New English Language Building at Shinas College of Technology (Contractor HussainFadil& Partner LLC) for Diploma and Advance Diploma level Civil Engineering students was organized on 4thJune 2015. The students, along with the HOS Dr. Mahmoud Khazalah and Civil Section staff, visited the ongoing construction of the new English Language Building at Shinas College of Technology.
In the beginning, students were taken to the base camp office and there they were informed about health and safety. They were then moved to the site, accompanied by Dr. Mahmoud Khazalah and contractor & consultant engineers.
Dr. Mahmoud Khazalah and the engineers started to explain to students the different stages of construction. They showed the students the first floor shuttering work, how to do scaffolding for beam and slab, steel-binding for a super column in one portion of a building and beam and slab for others, electric conduits in slab and concrete pouring of beam & slab etc.
Furthermore they took the students on the slab while pouring concrete, and explained reinforcement of beam & slab to the students. Students saw concrete pouring of beams& slabs using machines.
These SHCT students, who are at the doorstep of graduation, were inspired to escalate their confidence and were given experience in observation of practical and professional work. The visit was very fruitful. It ended with a lovely treat sponsored by the Contractors & Consultant of the new English Language Building at Shinas College of Technology.
HOS Dr. Mahmoud Khazalah, SHCT teachers and students expressed their gratitude to the authorities of Contractor HussainFadil and Consultants.
The main objective of the visit was to show the students the different stages of construction. All the students had good interaction with the representative.
The visit successfully concluded at around 11:00 A.M.
