BTech students tour OARC Sohar
Fifteen Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) students of Shinas College of Technology visited the Oman Aluminium Rolling Company (OARC) plant, Sohar on Nov.18, 2015.
The Engineering Department, in co-ordination with the OJT department, organized the industrial visit to the OARC plant.
The OARC Safety Manager and safety engineers gave safety instructions through a PowerPoint presentation; while the Production In-charge took the students for a demonstration of the mechanical systems in the plant.
Accompanied by two faculty members, the B.Tech students visited various equipment and production facilities the Hazeltt Twin Belt Caster which provides unique metallurgical properties for the rolled aluminum sheet products. Further, they also called in on the state-of-the-art hot and cold rolling machines and the packaging operations.
