To learn from the experience of Shinas College of Technology (ShCT) in its recently concluded OAAA Pilot GFP Audit, a contingent from Ibri College of Technology (IbriCT) visited ShCT on December 16, 2015. 

IbriCT Assistant Dean for Administration and Financial Affairs Dr. Hamdan Al Manthari  and  Quality Assurance Unit(QAU) Head Ms. Heba Gul Qureshi  led the 10 guests  who met the ShCT QA Team for a practice sharing meeting.

During the visit, ELC QA Coordinator Mr. Elmo Purpura presented the rationale of the General Foundation Program (GFP); whereas, ELC QA Asst. Coordinator Mr. Aldrin Apolonio discussed the process of designing the GFP Portfolio.

QAU Administrative Member Dr. Syed Sulaiman Hussaini differentiated GFP Accreditation from Institutional Accreditation. He also   presented the main points of the three-day Pilot GFP Audit conducted by OAAA auditors on December 7-9, 2015.

Meanwhile, QAU Administrative Member Dr. Joaquin Gabayno Jr.   shared some insights, experiences and practices relevant to ShCT’s Pilot GFP audit.

During the open forum, ShCT ELC Head of Center Mr. Ali Abdullah Al Balushi aslo shared his ideas and experiences during the three-day Pilot GFP Audit.

IbriCT and ShCT are both under the Ministry of Manpower of Oman.
