A group of second year Diploma Civil Engineering students visited a construction site of a residential building in the Wilayat of Shinas, on January 24, 2019.

Site Engineer Sudalairaj of the Aemar Alhazarah Almumayazah Trading and Contracting Company guided the 32 students throughout the visit and gave them a detailed explanation about planning, construction techniques utilized in various activities, basics of drainage and water supply, and rules applied in Oman in terms of town planning and routine maintenance activities.

The industrial visit also exposed students on the methodologies adopted for civil construction including beams, columns, slabs, and foundation.

The Industrial visit was organized by the Industry Liaison Committee of the Engineering Department (ED), in coordination with the On-the-Job Training (OJT) Department. ED lecturers Mr. Noorul Hasan and Ms. Vani Joshi accompanied the students during the said visit.
