Eighteen Diploma Civil Engineering students visited a multi-storey residential building at Al Aqur, Wilayat of Shinas, on January 22, 2019.

Civil Engineering lecturers Mr. Jayaram Kamalesini and Mr. Karthik Babu accompanied them in the site. Mr. Jayaram gave them a brief presentation about the reinforcement details of beams, columns and slabs, and a demonstration of various concepts for detailing the above-mentioned structural elements.

During the visit, they also observed details about number of steel bars, tension and compression reinforcement, spacing, and diameter of stirrups in the beam, number of bars, bar diameter, and effective cover for columns, and crank bar, diameter, and spacing of the steel bars for the slab detailing.

The Unit Industrial Liaison Committee organized the said industrial visit.
