The Engineering Department, in coordination with the On Job Training Department of Shinas College of Technology, organized an industrial visit to Arabian Industries Manufacturing LLC, Sohar for its Advanced Diploma Mechanical students on 12-02-2015 at 8.00 AM.

A team of thirteen students were accompanied by faculty members Ms. Reshmi and Mr. Babu. Mr. Zahar Al-Hinai, PRO and coordinator Mr. Saif Batti Humaid Al-Hinai received the team.

The students were initially briefed with a seminar on HSE and later taken to the field. During the visit they observed different units like the Stainless Steel Tank Manufacturing unit, the Heat Exchanger Fabrication unit, Pressure Vessels for Oil Industry and Gas Plants, Auto Spool Machines, Heavy Fabrication Yard and Piping Fabrication Facility involving various activities like welding, CNC cutting, grinding, rolling, finishing, blasting and painting operations.

This visit helped the students understand how real-time operations can be carried out in heavy manufacturing industries.
