Young Entrepreneurship Program for the Community
The IT Department Community Engagement Committee of University of Technology and Applied Sciences-Shinas, Oman, hosted an informative and engaging seminar titled "Young Entrepreneurship Program" on November 20 and 21. Young Entrepreneur Program is an intense program designed to equip participants with the necessary tools and skills to understand the startup world. From practical strategies and creative exercises to hands-on learnings during lectures and workshops, all the program activities are aimed at preparing participants for future professional challenges in the startup world, or elsewhere. A total of 20 participants attended the event which was facilitated and conducted by the two resource speakers, Mr. Kumar Mohan and Ms. Anu Krishna, lecturers from IT Department. The two-day event was divided into various sessions, covering the topics on starting a business/startup in Oman like the primary requirements, roles and functions of entrepreneurs and the various challenges of starting a new business. The speakers also gave an overview of Entrepreneurs Lives and their activities. Attendees learned various aspects of how to become an entrepreneur. A demonstration of various Tools for logo design / business card design / brochure design/ and web site design were also conducted. The theory and practical demonstrations provided attendees with the basic knowledge and tools they need to start up for a business. The event concluded with the presentation of certificates to the participants. Dr. Venkadeshan Ramalingam, Head of the Networking Section, presented certificates to the participants who attended the workshop.
