The Business Studies Department of UTAS-Shinas celebrated the achievement of students who took part in the intercollegiate competition “INNOVATIA-2022” organized by the Business Studies Department of UTAS-IBRA on 29^th March 2022. The competition themes were, business quiz, research mind, sketch a story and the innovative business idea. The competition allowed business students from across the Sultanate of Oman, to demonstrate their skills and competencies in their field. Teams from 10 public and private universities took part in the event, including participation from UTAS-Ibra, UTAS-Ibri, UTAS-Musannah, UTAS-Nizwa, Middle East College, Al-Sharqiyah University, Oman College of Health & Science and University of Nizwa,  

The UTAS-Shinas teams won in three themes, which included ‘Business Quiz’ team of Noura Khalaf Salim Humaid Al Kaabi, Rayyan Al-Saidi, and Ali Mahmood Abdallah Salim Al Saidi as winners with first prize. Second prize was awarded to  Omer Said Salim Khalfan Al Shibli, Abdul Rahman Mohammed Said Al Shehhi, and Mohammed Abdallah Ali Said Al Hinaai, for ‘research mind’ while third prize winners in ‘sketch a story’ were team members Reema Khamis Rashid Al-Shibli, Hawraa Salim Ali Al-Sheidi, and Mahra Salim Hamood Al-Mamari.

BSD lecturers Ms. Nithya Samba Moorthy and Mr. Narsaiah Lakkavatri supervised the students for the Innovatia-2022 competition and accompanied them to UTAS-Ibra. BSD HoD Ms. Khadija Al-Isaei expressed her delight and applauded the student teams and the supervisors for the great achievement, and she encouraged the students to continue their participation in future competitions. BSD HoS-Accounting Ms. Iman Al-Rubaiai, HoS-Marketing Dr. Joefrelin Ines and the BSD faculty members congratulated the winning teams and the mentors Dr. Minu, Dr. Kanniga, and Mr. Subhash. The students were awarded trophies and certificates of appreciation for winning.
