Next Generation Cyber Security: Trends, Innovations, and Challenges
The IT Department of UTAS Shinas recently organized a webinar titled "Next Generation Cyber Security: Trends, Innovations, and Challenges" on 12th April 2023, through Google Meet. The event was geared towards staff who were interested in gaining further knowledge about the future of cyber security. The webinar featured Dr. Sivaraman Eswaran, a Senior Lecturer specializing in Cyber Security from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Curtin University, Malaysia, as the resource speaker. During the webinar, Dr. Eswaran highlighted major cyber-attacks and discussed how one could benefit from research in this domain. He also shared insights on the latest cyber security trends expected in 2023, the importance of cybersecurity for AI, and the challenges posed by generative AI. The event was attended by 42 staff members from IT, Networking, and Math sections. The webinar was organized and facilitated by the IT Staff Professional Development Committee (SPDC). The event provided staff with a great opportunity to stay up-to-date with the latest developments in the field of cyber security and how to protect against cyber threats. Overall, it was an informative and enriching experience for all attendees.
