The IT Department of UTAS Shinas held the 3^rd Student IT Research Exposition (SITREX) 2022 on 6^th December. The Exposition started with a formal Inaugural ceremony by the University Dean, Dr. Ahmed Said Al-Shahri who delivered the felicitation. The Deputy Vice Chancellor of UTAS for Electronic and Student Services, Dr. Huda Al-Shuaily graced the ceremony as the chief guest. Fifty student research ideas from all over the Sultanate and India were presented during the exposition. The event which aimed to provide students with wonderful opportunity to showcase their research work and presentation skills was organized by the IT Research Committee, headed by Dr. Prasanna Christodoss. Three winners were awarded. The first prize of 100 OMR cash prize for  the Award Winning Research Idea, was awarded to UTAS-Salalah for the research titled “IoT-based Smart Traffic Cone System” by Khalid Ahmed Ali Bait Ali Sulaiman, and Rowaiya Said Bahata Masan, mentored by Mr. Sunil Thomas Karickom. The Best Research in Software Engineering was awarded to UTAS-Sohar for the research titled “Hain: Oman Tourism Mobile App” by members Ghadeer Zaid Said Al-Dhuhouri. Tasnim Mubarak Al Khayari and Hiba Ali Albassami. The Best Research in Networking was awarded to UTAS-Shinas for the research titled “Virtual Intelligent Eye Vision (VIEV)” by the team members Maha Al-Thihli, Alla Said Abdallah Aljabri and Noura Ali Moahmmed Alshihhi.
