The Department of Information Technology at UTAS-Shinas conducted a practical oriented workshop titled “Windows Server Administration and Exchange Server Activities” for the Community from 20th to 22nd November 2022. The event was organized by the Community Training Department. The workshop sessions were conducted by Mr. Rajesh R.K. and Mr. Hariraman, both lecturers in the Networking Section. The objective of the workshop was to impart Server Management skills to the participants. The trainers discussed about configuring email accounts in Exchange Server, restricting email users from uploading bulk files via email, how to restrict email users from attaching virus files, importing and exporting .pst files and taking back-up of email files. They also discussed the importance of creating a protection from spam messages in user’s e-mails, and forwarding emails in the absence of an email user to another user. During the training they provided 3 virtual machines, complete lab handouts along with video recordings for each activity for future reference. The training was attended by 16 Omani students and professionals from various companies including the ROP, Orpic and UTAS Registration Department.
