A team from the Industry Engagement Committee (IEC) visited Sohar International Bank on Thursday 17th November 2022, with the aim of strengthening the relationship between UTAS Shinas and Sohar International Bank. The team consisted of three IEC members, Dr. Darwish Abdullah Ali Al Kalbani, Dr. Sunder Rajan, and Mr. Soofi Azizuddin Khusro along with a Student Council Member, Mr. Saad Al Murshidi.
There was a warm welcome by Ms. Amel (Coordinator to the District Manager – Sohar International), subsequently, Mr. Zahir Khusaif Al Harrasi (District Manager) joined the meeting. The meeting was prolific and delegates from both organizations discussed the possible cooperation in several areas like guest lectures, sponsorships, student and staff industrial visits, Agreement of Cooperation, tournaments, and utilization of university resources such as IOT lab, and engineering labs by JSIS.
The IEC Chairperson Dr. Darwish Abdullah Ali Al Kalbani invited the delegates of Sohar International to UTAS Shinas to explore the university, they have accepted the invitation and will be visiting UTAS Shinas December 2022.
