The Engineering Department of UTAS-Shinas organized a site visit to a villa construction site in Shinas on 16th November 2022, for the students of Diploma Final Year Project CECE2250 in the Civil Engineering section. Mr Basharath Ali, site supervisor of Al Shamil Leading Engineering consultancy, Shinas, Mr. Noorul Hasan and Mr. Mohammed Ashfaq, Faculty of Civil Engineering section, Engineering Department, UTAS-Shinas, provided a thorough explanation of the structural details of the building, working drawings, ground floor plan, front elevation, various stages of building construction and the arrangement of reinforcements in column and staircase as per the drawings and specification. A lively interaction took place between the engineers and the students at the construction site. Mr. Noorul Hasan and Mr. Mohammed Ashfaq Faculty of Civil Engineering, UTAS-Shinas, joined the students during the site visit. Students were able to develop a better understanding of the various stages of building construction.
