The  Clinic and the Health and Safety Committee at the University of Technology and Applied Sciences Shinas, organized a First Aid and Personal Safety workshop entitled  ‘Be a First Aider’.  The workshop was delivered in cooperation with the Civil Defense and Ambulance Authority on 1^st June 2022. The presenter, Mr. Saeed Al Kaabi, an emergency medical technician at the Civil Defense Center in Shinas, covered several topics including an introduction of the civil ambulance services, and the ambulance call procedures.  He also demonstrated general first aid and personal safety guidelines, and explained the methods of administering first aid for injuries, fractures, bleeding, drowning, suffocation and burns.  The participants had the opportunity to practice cardiopulmonary resuscitation on dummies. The workshop was attended by students and staff of UTAS Shinas, as well as visitors from the community.
