ELC holds Speaking class to the local community
The English Language Center (ELC) held a two-week Speaking class for 16 female residents of Shinas, Liwa, and Sohar at Room F-120, from January 27-February 6, 2019.
ELC lecturer Ms. Catherine Baladad- Manansala equipped the students with the basics of oral communication such as common expressions used in conversations, greetings, introducing oneself, and answering the telephone.
To enhance the participants’ speaking skills, activities such as brainstorming, describing pictures, simulations, and information gap were also utilized.
Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Al Mamari, the College Dean, and Mr. Ali Abdullah Al Balushi, ELC Head, awarded the participants with certificates of attendance on February 6, 2019.
Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs Dr. Ahmed Said Al Shahri and Community Engagement Committee Chair Mr. Saif Juma Al Weshahi graced the event.
