BSD holds Micro Teaching Demo Project
The Business Studies Department (BSD), through the leadership of Ms. Khadija Ahmed Ali Al Isaei, recently resumed its Micro Teaching Demo Project on November 15, 2018, at Room, Shinas College of Technology (ShCT) Main Building.
BSD lecturers Mr. Elbert Bryan Vidal, Mr. Romel Basilan and Ms. Yasmin Sayed were the chosen presenters during the first leg of the project.
The project aimed to provide guidance to newly hired lecturers and to address points for improvement that were identified in the Student Evaluation of Teachers (SET).
Originally conceptualized by Head of Section (HoS) - Marketing Dr. Joefrelin Ines and the SPDC in 2015, the current project was participated in by the Head of the Department (HoD), HoS, and the Quality Assurance (QA) Coordinator, together with the lecturers from the Department who acted as observers and critics.
In the micro teaching sessions, 15 minutes were given to identify lecturers to present a module and simulate it in a class teaching environment setting.
The project went-off with a good start since it gave opportunities to lecturers to share their best practices in teaching, at the same time to encourage other lecturers.
Apart from the recently conducted activity, there are three more sessions that will be held before the end of the semester.
The Department intends to make the activity a continuous one and will be implemented every semester.
