BSD, Sohar Aluminium hold exploratory discussion
Seven faculty members of the Business Studies Department(BSD) visited Sohar Aluminium for an exploratory talk with key officials of the Training and Development Centre of Sohar Aluminium on October 21, 2015. The talk was held in the meeting room of Sohar Aluminium. Mr.Murad Fawzi, Supervisor of the Training Support and Assessment Centre welcomed the lecturers from the Business Studies Department.
The Head of Training and Development Centre began the meeting with a brief prentation of the company profile. Six key company personnel from the Operations, Finance, Training Centre and HR departments attended the meeting.
The exploratory talk sought to identify areas of mutual interest towards an agreement that would be mutually beneficial for both Business Studies Department and Sohar Aluminium. The primary purpose of the meeting was to establish a partnership in terms of exchanging expertise in order to improve the curriculum of the Business Studies programme that matches or aligns with the requirement of the industry.
The members who met suggested and agreed to establish a steering committee that would draft a proposal and outline the areas of cooperation that would lead to a possible MOU or MOA. Additionally, there was an initial consultation held regarding the course outcomes of the department.
The meeting was a part of the Course Review efforts of the department. Ms. Moza Al Shehi -HOD of Business Studies directed it. Attendees also included personnel from various departments. The Industrial Link Committee under Dr. Suneel Kumar and Mr. Soofi Azizzudin coordinated and facilitated the visit.
