IT Department organizes various training-workshops for staff
In its continuing endeavor for delivering quality IT education to the students, the IT department conducts various training-workshops for updating the knowledge base of its staff members. Three workshops have already been organized during the first phase of the current semester. The first one was a workshop on Mobile Computing for Windows, aimed at enriching the knowledge and skills on mobile-based applications. This was facilitated by Mr. Prasanna Christodoss, SPDC Coordinator of the department. Second in the line was a training-workshop on Database Security, led by Mr. Aijas Ahmed, Program Coordinator of Database Specialization. This was designed to equip the staff with the rudiments of the processes and procedures undertaken to prevent unauthorized usage or access at the database level. The third one dealt with Java Server Pages (JSP) Programming. Mr. Anthony Madlambayan, IT Lecturer and ShCT Web Team member, who spearheaded this workshop, shared his knowledge and expertise in web application design, development, and programming.
The IT department is proud to have taken the initiative in offering such seminars / workshops / refresher courses to its faculty all the year round. The courses / seminars / workshops held in June and July this year may be taken as a case in point. During the above said period advanced training for the staff was provided in C# Programming, PhP Programming and Visual Basic.Net. These training sessions were conducted by Mr. Prassana, Mr. Anthony and Mr. Greg respectively.
These staff development activities were initiated by Dr. Mary Jane Aragon, HoS of IT Section, and Mr. Gharib Al-Matroushi, HoD of IT Department.
