Mr. Nagoor Meeran, a faculty member of the Information Technology Department (ITD), conducted a workshop for IT, Math and Networking lecturers last February 27, 2024 in Room A-140.  

Titled “Fortifying your Linux System through Kernel Hardening”, the workshop aimed at equipping the participants with essential skills and knowledge to effectively prevent network attacks and mitigate various forms of information leaks.  

Using informative visuals, he demonstrated the installation of Lynis Software, an open source security designed to assess the security defenses of a system by performing various checks and providing recommendations to enhance security.  

At the end of the workshop, ITD Head Ms. Amina Al Jabri thanked the speaker and awarded him a certificate of appreciation.  

The said event was organized by the ITD- Staff Professional Development Committee.
