The IT Department awarded distinction status to fourteen (14) students to be included in the Deans List of awardees for the First Semester AY 2013-2014. Topping the honour roll is Samiya Said Khamis Al-Moqbali, Advanced Diploma major in networking student, with an SGPA of 3.86. Fatma Ali Yussef Ali Al-Kushriya, Diploma First Year, Ameera Obid Mohammed Al-Zaabi, Diploma Second Year, and Maryam Othman Othman Al-Shahi, another Advanced Diploma major in networking, shared second place with an SGPA of 3.75. Amani Sarahan Abdallah Al-Maqbali, advanced diploma major in software engineering, ranked third with an SGPA of 3.74. Other honourees are Advanced Diploma major in database students: Manal Mohammed Said Al-Risi with an SGPA of 3.66, Amira Salim Khalfan Al-Mamari with an SGPA of 3.66, and Abeer Mohammed Rashid Al-Issaei with an SGPA of 3.54. Also, included in the honour list are Tahani Mohammed Hilal Al-Matroushi, Advanced Diploma major in networking with an SGPA of 3.58, and two (2) Advanced Diploma major in software engineering students: Fatma Abdullah Hassan Al-Kamzaria, and Ayisha Abdullah Hamed Al-Saidi, both with an SGPA of 3.40. The department selected the top three (3) students, with an SGPA of 3.75 and above, from each specialization at Advanced Diploma and Diploma level. This recognition was extended with an aim to motivate and encourage all students to excel and study hard during their tenure at the College. A video presentation of the honouring activity will be posted in the plasma and presented in classes. The department also would like to extend its appreciation and thanks to the parents, guardians and teachers of these awardees for supporting them in achieving their academic goals.
