ELC conducts workshop series
The Staff Professional Development Committee (SPDC) of the English Language Center (ELC) spearheaded a three-day workshop series for ELC lecturers at A-214 and A-215 on January 4-6, 2016.
ELC HOC Mr. Ali Abdullah Al Balushi welcomed the participants during the first workshop conducted on January 4.
ELC lecturer Mr. Ossama Nostafa Sayed Abdulrahman delivered the first workshop dubbed “Error Correction Techniques in ELT: Timelines and Concept Checking Questions.”
For the second workshop, ELC QA Assistant Coordinator Mr. Aldrin Apolonio shed light on the perceived similarities and differences between IELTS and the SHCT ELC Curriculum.
Mr. Peter Copperwheat, one of the new ELC faculty, discussed “The Effective Use of Context and Technology in Grammar Teaching.”
Meanwhile, former ELC Registrar Mr. Waleed Saad Mandour ‘s workshop on “Online vs. Traditional Face to Face Classrooms: Staging Differences” is scheduled on Sunday, January 10, 2015.
SPDC Chairperson Mr. Johnny K. Lanyon and his team organized this workshop series, which aimed at providing continuing professional development to the ELC faculty.
