Enayah Project Launched
The project initiated by the HOS of HR, Mr. Ali Al Alawi has finally been presented to the staff of the Business Studies Department. In a meeting which included a short presentation and mini workshop for all staff of the department, Mr. Ali expressed his appreciation to all his colleagues in the department.
The Enayah Project or Caring for Student Project, conceived four months ago by Mr. Ali, aims to help students who are in a critical situation of being expelled from the college due to poor academic performance. Mr. Alis first draft report of the project submitted to the Deans Office received all round support and approval. Continuous expansion and implementation of the study was recommended, so that it could eventually be replicated in all departments at the College.
The initial report contained information regarding numbers of probation cases, year/level where probation cases are prevalent and courses or subjects with which students under probation faced great challenges. Also the study identified advisors who could help unlock the problem areas. As stated by Mr. Ali during the meeting, advisors play a key role in improving the academic performance of the students. They can especially help the advisees by setting a target grade point and motivating them to work hard to achieve that, so as to get out of probation. Specifics of the target grade points are to be discussed and explained to the advisees by their respective advisors.
