The Business Studies Department marked the beginning of the new Academic Year 2013-2014 by offering a new course of study: Bachelor of Technology (with specializations in Accounting and Human Resource). This remarkable and bold step taken by the department aims at benefitting not only the students of Shinas College of Technology, but also other graduates holding Advanced Diplomas from other higher education institutions. Providing the B. Tech. course at Shinas College of Technology will help our students to continue with their higher studies at ShCT itself. This will indeed prove to be beneficial to the students, as they will not have to undergo the stress of moving from one college to another and re-establishing their roots once again. Furthermore, the students will have the added advantage of being strategically prepared for procuring jobs locally in prestigious institutions functioning at the Sohar Port, Sohar Industrial Estate, etc. As per the department’s registration records, currently there are 25 students registered for the HR specialization and 15 students for the accounting course. The department envisions presenting its first batch of B. Tech graduates for the graduation ceremony next year.
