BSD organizes workshop as community service
The Industrial Links Committee of the Business Studies Department (BSD) organized a two-day workshop titled “Strategic Planning and Goals Setting” at ShCT on January 4-5, 2016.
Forty-three administrative staff attended the workshop, which aimed at rendering service to the community.
BSD lecturer Ms. Radouch Amel conducted the workshop to the participants who come from public institutions like Al-Wafa Social Center, Omani Woman Association and Shinas Health Center.
During the first day of the workshop, the resource speaker discussed the rudiments of strategic planning and goal-setting. She also emphasized the role of the leader in the administrative board, particularly in preparing strategic plans.
On the second day, she presented the Pfeiffer model for strategic planning and trained the participants on the preparation of a company’s vision and mission. As well, she gave an overview of the different types of analysis tools like SWOT and PEST ESHIKAWA analysis.
ShCT Dean Dr. Ali Al-Mughairi and Assistant Dean for Student Affairs Mr. Ali Al-Alawi graced the closing ceremonies.
Organized by BSD’s Industrial Links Committee, the workshop was facilitated by BSD lecturers Mr. Ahmed Al-Sadi and Dr. Mamoon Syed.
