ShCT organizes First Aid Course for staff
Shinas College of Technology (ShCT), through Health and Safety College Committee (HSCC), in cooperation with Public Authority of Civil Defence and Ambulance (PACDA) conducted a First Aid Course for staff from September 9-13, 2018, held at the F-003 room, ELC Building.
It was conducted in Arabic by Sergeant Said Khamis Hamed Al Kaabi, from 08: 30 AM to12:30 PM for five consecutive days.
The course was prepared to be a general guide to educate and instruct the staff in performing appropriate first aid procedures for the cases that they may face, where immediate intervention will make a difference in the patients’ outcomes until the arrival of the advanced emergency care providers.
It covered different cases of emergency like First Aid at the scene, Heart Attack, Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)Fainting/Syncope, Hemorrhage/Bleeding, Shock, Fractures & Dislocation, Burns, Stroke, Seizures, First Aid of Hypoglycemia, Allergy, Nasal Bleeding, Drowning, Chocking, Eye Injuries, Heat Disorders, Spinal Column Injuries, Neck& Back Injuries and tongue Obstruction; there was also a practical training with dummies and different emergency scenarios on how to respond if such cases will arise.
21 participants from different department of ShCT attended the course and those who passed the exam on the last day became Certified First Aider from The Higher Authority of Civil Defence and Ambulance.
