ShCT Networking Studes Win in NetRiders 2017 Competition
Twenty-seven networking students from Shinas College of Technology (ShCT) participated in the first round of Cisco NetRiders competition held on May 11, 2017.
The NetRiders competition brought together students from all over the world and united them as members of the largest Network Academy programme, with over one million students worldwide.
It was divided into seven regions and ShCT students participated in the Middle East region.
There were three rounds in the CCNA competition, and two rounds in each of the ITE and CCENT competitions.
Further, various prizes will be distributed to the winners of each category, with the top prize being a study trip to San Jose, California, USA. It will be awarded to five winners of the final round in the CCNA category.
Out of the 26 students who participated in the competition, 7 students participated in CCNA, 7 in CCENT, and 13 in ITE.

The students were coached by five Networking faculty members: Mr. Bhaskar (CCNA & CCENT), Mr. Bernard (CCNA & CCENT), Mr. Naheed and Mr. Charles (ITE) and Mr. Nouman (CCNA & ITE).
The event was coordinated by Mr. M. Vijaya Bhaskar Reddy, Networking Lecturer.
Ms. Amina Salim Mohd Al-Jabri, Head of IT Department (HoD) believes that the Cisco NetRiders competition is an excellent opportunity for ShCT students, majoring in Networking and Security, to compete with other students from the various Cisco academies worldwide.
On behalf of the ITD, the HoD, the Heads of Sections and the ITD staff congratulated the winners and the coaches.
