Software Engineering students visit Sohar Aluminum
The Bachelor of Information Technology students, specializing in Software Engineering, visited Sohar Aluminum last November 16, 2015.
This Software Measure and Testing class had their educational trip at the company to: a) understand the different types of testing being done, and b) to gain more knowledge on the measurement criteria used in delivering quality products.
During the visit, Junior Software Developer Mr. Suleiman Al-Mamari welcomed the group and explained the various types of testing and the testing tools used by their software developers.
Network Engineer Mr. Pradeep escorted the group in exploring the network room, and explained the different servers of the company. Automation Engineer Mr. Ibrahim explained how the automation of machines is being done.
Mr. Othman Al-Balushi, IT Department Head of the company, together with the staff, praised the college in its efforts to send students for industrial visits. In his speech, Mr. Othman encouraged the students to develop not only their technical skills but also their soft skills. He mentioned the importance of having the right attitude towards learning and challenged them to do their best in seeking their niche in the competitive job market.
IT Lecturers Ms. Pradeepa Ganesan and Mr. Gregory Danguilan accompanied the students.
