Student Amani Sarhan Abdullah Al-Moqbali, B.Tech in Software Engineering, and Fatma Khalifa Said Al-Saidi, a student in the Advanced Diploma in Networking, bagged the top spot in the recently concluded Technical Quiz Bee held at the College of Applied Sciences in Ibri last May 13, 2015 in its TechFest 2015. These two students secured first place after four (4) rounds of the Quiz Bee Competition, namely: an elimination round, a rapid fire round, a buzzer round, and a visual round. Mr. Gregory Danguilan coached the winning team.

On the other hand, Safiya Rabia Al-Khair Jabri, and Moza Said Mohammed Al-Najabi , both students in Advanced Diploma in Software Engineering, represented the college in the programming competition. Mr. Mohan served as their coach.

In the said event, various IT students from colleges and universities in Oman competed in the different events such as Technical Quiz, Programming, Paper Presentation, and Data Modeling. It aimed to serve as a recognized platform for the exchange of ideas, innovation, learning, etc. for students across the Sultanate.
