IT Department conducts seminar-cum-workshop on Pedagogical Approaches
IT Department organized a seminar-cum-workshop on "Linking Objectives and Outcomes, Assessment Methods and Evaluation" on April 29, 2014 at the VIP Lounge. Dr. Joefrelin C. Ines, HoS of Marketing Section, Business Studies Department, served as the resource speaker. He talked about the needs of writing instructional objectives for courses, bases of examination questions, the connection between the assessment methods and the students learning, writing of effective questions, and evaluation of assessment tools. Further, he discussed Blooms taxonomy of objectives and mentioned the importance of concept mapping in enhancing the thinking and learning activities of the students. During the open forum that followed, Dr. Mary Jane Aragon, HoD of the IT Department, assisted the resource speaker in clarifying the issues and concerns raised by some lecturers. The seminar-cum-workshop aimed to equip the lecturers with enhanced knowledge and skills of effective teaching strategies and approaches. Ms. Shija Gangadharan, Lecturer in Mathematics, served as the master of ceremony.
