The IT Bachelor students, specializing in Database, visited Oman Data Park on November 30, 2015.

The group had an educational trip to the IT Section of the company to understand the management of its database system and the policies. Additionally, the trip also enabled the students to comprehend the procedures for database administration tasks, such as user creation, diagnosis, database back-up and recovery, among others.

Head of Sales Mr. Masood explained the roles of Oman Data Park. He discussed its basic functions and the advantages of Cloud Computing. He also explained the threats and the corresponding solutions for data security in Cloud Computing.

Mr. Ahmed Al-Shiaili gave a tour to the students and teachers inside the Data Centre; whereas, Mr. Elie R. Samaha, senior manager of service section, demonstrated the data plant centre.

IT lecturers Mr. Mir Abid Ali and Mr. Syed Ibrahim Hussain accompanied the students.

The Industrial Link Committee of the IT department, in cooperation with the OJT department, arranged this industry visit.
