Dr. Kalyana Chakravarthi Thiruganari, English Language Center (ELC) lecturer conducted a workshop on Lateral Thinking Technique: A Powerful Tool for Decision Making at Multi-Purpose Hall, Engineering Building, on 6 November 2014.

Said workshop endeavored to introduce Lateral Thinking Technique to the faculty at ELC to apply six thinking hats to the teaching-learning process; particularly to improve the four macro-skills (listening, speaking, reading and writing) in ELT; and to contribute to curriculum development and methods of teaching which would help students.

Lateral Thinking Technique is founded by Dr. Edward de Bono, an international authority in the field of creative thinking, innovation, and the direct teaching of thinking as a skill.

The workshop was made possible through the efforts of Mr. Senthil Kumar, Staff Professional Development Team (SPDC) leader and Mr. Saif Salim Al Washahi, Staff Support Committee (SST) coordinator .
