Eleven English Language Center (ELC) lecturers attended the 1^st ELTPN Conference with the theme “Practical Ideas in the Classroom,” held at the College of Banking and Finance, Boushar, on February 14, 2015.

Peter Lucantoni, the plenary speaker, has had a long career in English Language teaching and teacher training in Europe, the Middle East and Cyprus. He is the author and co-author of several popular course books for students including Cambridge IGCSE English as a Second Language (fourth edition).

During the workshop, the speaker set the mood for the rest of the day by having participants think about grammar and consider how to teach it in a more communicative way.

Seventeen presenters from various institutions in Oman shared their experiences and strategies in English Language Teaching (ELT) on three concurrent sessions.

Said workshop was organized by the ELT Professional Network (ELTPN) British Council, Muscat.

Transportation for those who attended was provided by the college through the efforts of the Staff Support Committee Coordinator, Mr. Saif Salim Al- Washahi.
