ShCT students attend Awareness Workshop on Policies and Decisions
A group of 15 students from various specializations represented Shinas College of Technology (ShCT) in the recently concluded ‘Awareness Workshop on Policies and Decisions Resulting from Labor Market and Employment Lab Initiatives within the National Program for the Reinforcement of Economic Diversification,’ on November 5, 2018, held at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in North Al Batinah Governorate, Suhar.
The event was organized by the Ministry of Manpower, in cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in North Al Batinah Governorate, Suhar, under the patronage of His Excellency, Dr. Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al-Zadjali, member of the Shura Council, representative of Sohar Province, and took place in the presence of Mr. Abdullah bin Ali Al-Shafei, Head of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Sohar.
The workshop was based on the initiatives taken by the National Program for the Reinforcement of Economic Diversification, and Labor Market and Employment Labs, which incorporated the policies facilitating temporary and part-time work procedures, strengthening labor market mobility and transitions, enforcement of national employment policies (Omanization policies) in the target economic sectors (industry, tourism and logistics) and making the private sector more attractive to the national workforce.
The workshop also discussed the decisions and policies regarding the regulation of part-time work and the regulations adopted for the flexibility of expatriate labor market mobility and transitions, the percentage of Omanisation in the senior and upper managements of the tourism, industrial and logistic sectors, the sanctions imposed on the companies of the three sectors in case of failure to achieve Omanization, as well as the requirements for private sector institutions to get the treatment of glorious institutions.
