Diploma Second year HR students, accompanied by Mr. Subhash Kodiyil Raman and Dr. Shazia Kausar, Lecturers from the Business Studies Department visited Sohar Industrial Port Company (SIPC), on 6^th December 2022, Tuesday.

The Visit was a very Interactive and fruitful one, providing students with thoughtful insights and an understanding of compensation practices in real-time work environment.

Ms. Haifa Al Alawi- HR Specialist in Compensation and Benefits from the HR department at the organization, coordinated the overall visit starting with a welcome note, followed by a brief introduction on SIPC, and gave a detailed presentation with insights on the various aspects of remuneration and benefits including travel allowances, time and attendance procedure and overtime allowances, leaves and holidays benefits, employee recognition program- KOFA. At the end, the students took a tour of the entire area of the port and learned about the various operational areas.

Ms Khadija Al Isaei, Head of Business Department, Dr. Moza Mohammed Ali Al-Shihi, Head of Section-HRM and Industrial Liaison committee of Business Department, extended their gratitude for this wonderful opportunity given to the students of UTAS Shinas.
