On-The-Job-Training Induction Week February 18th- 21st, 2024

The induction week for the On-The-Job-Training Program in its third edition kicked off in collaboration between the Training and Career Guidance Center, represented by the On-The-Job Training Department, and private sector institutions. The induction program for on-the-job training is designed for qualified students enrolled in the training program for the second semester of the academic year 2023-2024. It took place from February 18th to February 21st, 2024.The program was inaugurated on February 18th, 2024, at 9:00 am by Ms. Fatima Al-Shibli, Head of the Training and Career Guidance Center, who welcomed the attendees. Then, Ms. Fatima Al-Mamari presented the rules and regulations of the On-The-Job Training Program, followed by a video presentation on the registration process in the electronic program for on-the-job training, discussed by Ms. Moza Al-Muqbali, an employee in the training department.Afterwards, Mr. Ali Al-Raisi, a trainer in the Engineering Department, shared his experience as a trainee, highlighting the stages of his training and the challenges he faced until he obtained his job opportunity. This experience emphasized to the students the importance of taking the training program more seriously, as well as having strong determination and ambition to achieve the desired goal.The first day of the program concluded with a meeting between the students and their on-the-job training supervisors in their respective academic departments, where they explained what is expected from the students after starting their training program.The second day of the program focused on the topic of health and occupational safety. Mr. Abdulaziz Al-Abri , an occupational health specialist and former chemistry teacher and trainer at Sohar International Urea & Chemical Industries LLC, and Mr. Saeed Ali Al-Farsi, security and safety supervisor at Sohar Aluminum Company and an engineering and safety college graduate, delivered a workshop on occupational health and safety in the work environment. Mr. Mu'tasim bin Ali Al-Shaibani, an environmental coordinator at Sohar Aluminum Company and a graduate of Sultan Qaboos University with a specialization in environmental biology, who was previously employed in the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones in Duqm for 5 years, also presented a workshop on occupational health and safety.As part of self-development, the On-The-Job Training Department, in coordination with OQ Company, provided a workshop on how to prepare a professional resume, presented by Mr. Ahmed Al-Jahwari , Senior Specialist in the Talent Management Department.The program concluded on the fourth day, February 21st, 2024, with a lecture on job search strategies titled "Mechanisms of Finding a Job" delivered by Mr. MohammedAl-Ismaili, which received great interaction from the students.At the end of the program, the approximately 200 attending male and female students expressed their appreciation for the knowledge and enjoyment they gained from the program, as well as the meaningful discussions, inquiries, and enriching interactions that took place.
