The Information Technology (IT) Department conducted a Student Induction Program for those who entered the Diploma I year program, on 4th March 2024 and 19th March 2024, Main Building, UTAS-Shinas Campus. Dr. Sujatha, and Dr. Pradeepa introduced the IT Department to the students. They discussed the lab facilities and various activities available for student support activities. Head of the IT Section (HoS) Ms. Amna Salim Al Kaabi gave an overall view of the IT Department and encouraged the students to participate in the events conducted by the department. 

Then, Ms. Kalithem Al-Jabri and Mr. Saud Al-Jabri informed the students about the services provided by the Educational Technologies Center (ETC). Ms. Fatma Al Balushi also introduced students to the University Library and its services. After that, Mr. Ahmed Al Farsi, HoS- Guidance and Counselling, talked about the Counseling and Graduates Follow Up Department and the tasks that the department offers on the academic and behavioral levels. He highlighted the SGPA and CGPA and its impact on determining the student's academic career. He also provided some tips on how to avoid falling into probation and how to get out of it and explained the importance of effective study. At the end of the event, the students were given the chance to raise their queries. The presenters encouraged the students to excel in their academic life and to achieve excellence in both academic and personal development. The program was conducted in 4 sections and was organized by the Student Support Committee in collaboration with the Counselling and Graduates Follow-Up Department
