The Industry and Community Engagement (ICE) Committee of the Engineering Department (ED) organized an industrial visit for its 33 Bachelor-Project B students at Omani Lebanese Company LLC Construction Site, Sohar, on January 25, 2020.

Site Engineer Muuad Mohammed, Structural Engineer Syed Ahmad Hussain, Safety Manager Jojo Joseph and Civil Engineer Sheikha Al Sadrani, an alumna of Shinas College of Technology, welcomed the students and elucidated the planning, designing and detailing of a five-story shopping mall and a 4-star hotel.

The visit aimed at enriching the students’ knowledge on structural design and detailing of beams, columns, slabs, foundation and retaining walls.

Civil Engineering Section Lecturers Dr. Binumol Shahulhameed and Mr. C.P Shunmuganathan accompanied the students during the visit.
