The Engineering Department (ED) held a lecture on ‘Corrosion and its Prevention’ for its Applied Sciences Section lecturers at Room A-032, on January 29, 2019.

Chemistry Lecturer Dr. Shabeer Ahmad Kazi served as the resource speaker. He emphasized the various effects of corrosion on metal surfaces, material degradation, deteriotation of materials through electrochemical attack, and effects of dry and wet corrosion.

He also highlighted the importance of selection of various metal alloys and corrosion preventive methods using corrosion inhibitors.

The lecture ended with an open discussion between the speaker and the participants.
