A group of Bachelor of Technology-Civil Engineering students visited Sohar International Airport, on February 25, 2019.

The field visit aimed to familiarize the students with practical knowledge in planning and designing airports.

Sohar Airport Manager Samir Saleh Mohammed Al-Abri welcomed the group.

Senior Manager Abdul Rahman Ali Said Al-Hattali gave them a tour inside the airport, and showed the different airport components such as the runway, taxiway, apron control tower, and fire station.

He also discussed airport planning and design considerations of the above-mentioned airport components.

Engineering Department (ED) lecturer Mr. Asohan Kandasamy accompanied the students in the said visit.
