In order to provide the Advanced Diploma students of the Electrical section with hands-on experience in electrical layout preparation, the Engineering Club conducted an AutoCAD Training session on March 22, 2016.

Mr.Arun S. Gopinath, a lecturer in the Electrical section, presented the lighting system design and its calculations with Lux levels recommended as per the Oman Electrical standards.

Mr. Phanikumar from the Civil section dealt with the drafting session after the design calculations. Basic civil planning development, the making of electrical symbols and the presentation of layouts using AutoCAD were all done during the presentation.

As the lighting layout preparation is one of the main responsibilities of an electrical engineer, the Advanced Diploma students of the Electrical section benefited from this training.
