First Business Studies Department Staff Meeting for First Semester 2012-2013
At exactly 12:10 pm, the staff meeting for the Business Department was held at the Multi Purpose Hall (Engineering Building, 1st Floor) of the College. It was attended in full force by the well energized, invigorated, and revitalized staff of the department; Accounting Section and Human Resource Management Section.
The meeting was presided by the HOD of the Business Studies Department Ms. Moza Al Shihi. She welcomed back the staff and hope for a better academic year that lies ahead. Policies, Plans, Project, Programs, Challenges, and Trends were the final output.
Policies were stipulated and revisited. The HOD prodded everyone to submit their respective delivery plans and should be distributed on the first day of classes to the students.
Programs, projects, and plans were laid out. Time table for the first semester was clearly defined concerning mid -term exam and final exam schedule. As per agreement of the Heads of the Department during their meeting last September 5, 2012 at the ADAA Office; Mid Term Exam will be on October 18 to 25 2012, before the Eid Holiday and Final Exam will be administered starting December 8 and December 15 for Practical Final Exam and Theoretical Final Exam respectively.
Challenges were posed. Working hours should be at least 7 hours per day which includes teaching load, office or administrative works and consultation hours. Faculty staff should allot at least one hour per section in a week. When leaving the college, you should ask Permission to Leave from the HOD, Ms. Moza said.
Trends were shared, exposed and discussed. According to the HOD, subject assigned to faculty staff was based on the available resources of the department. Lastly, all faculty staff was encouraged to participate actively by sharing extra effort through joining various committees of the department.
Excitement and Expectations for the new Academic Year engrossed the hall.
