Civil Engineering studes visit Shinas Municipality

A group of 21 Civil Engineering students enrolled in Advanced Diploma participated in an Industry Visit at Shinas Municipality on October 17, 2017.

The Engineering Department in coordination with ShCT’s OJT Department arranged the industrial visit.

Dr. Mahmoud Khazalah, Head of Civil Section, managed the industry visit; whereas,  Mr. A. Maria Rajesh and Mr.Karthick accompanied the students.

The visit aimed to acquaint the students on town planning and sewage treatment method.

Shinas Waste Water Treatment Plant, Shinas, Oman, has secured the sewage treatment process of removing contaminants from waste water, primarily from household and Industry sewage.

Shinas Municipality Engineer Mr. Hussein Al Ajmi explained the safety measures followed in the plant as he discussed the waste water treatment process, its benefits, and the necessity of the treatment process.

ShCT celebrates Leaders’ Day

The administration of Shinas College of Technology (ShCT), through the initiative of the Human Resources Department, congratulated the heads of departments, heads of centers, and heads of sections in celebration of the Leaders’ Day on October 16, 2017.

ShCT Dean Dr. Khalid Al-Muharrami, together with the Quality Assurance Unit(QAU) staff and Human Resources Department Head Ms. Fawziya Al-Jabri, visited the offices of the heads of departments and centers to present the gifts submitted by their respective staff to QAU.

Leaders’ Day was celebrated to recognize the hardwork of the ShCT leaders and strengthen the harmonious relationship of the management with all the staff as partners in the achievement of ShCT’s vision and mission.

BSD organizes Innovative Teaching Strategies workshop

The Business Studies Department (BSD) organized a workshop on “Innovative Teaching Strategies” at the ShCT Multi-Purpose Hall on Oct. 12, 2017.
English Language Center lecturer Mr. Aldrin L. Apolonio conducted the workshop.
The workshop aimed to help the participants to enhance their teaching skills.
The BSD HoD, HoSs and lecturers participated in the workshop.

1st Business Studies Alumni Gathering held

The Business Studies Department (BSD) spearheaded the 1st Business Alumni Gathering at the ShCT Multi-Purpose Hall on Oct. 10, 2017.

In his opening speech, ShCT Dean Dr. Khalid Zayed Al-Muharrami encouraged the alumni to keep in touch with their college in order to create an atmosphere that promotes mutual cooperation and benefits.
