The Information Technology Department of UTAS Shinas organized a special Research Presentation event - Student IT Research Exposition (SITREX 2021) on 7^th of December 2021, for students conducting research as part of their academic curriculum. During the online event, undergraduate students from UTAS Shinas and the affiliated UTAS branches IBRA and IBRI, took part and showcased their research skills, presentation skills and shared knowledge on the selected domain with their peers. The SITREX 2021 started with an inauguration ceremony at  8:30am with prayer and the national anthem. Ms. Amina Al Jabri, Head of IT, delivered the welcome speech and Dr. Ahmed Al Mamari, Dean of UTAS Shinas delivered his felicitation. Dr. Shanmugavadivu, Head of Computer Science and Director of IQAC at the Gandhigram Rural Institute, Tamil Nadu India, presented the keynote Speech ‘Pathway of Quality Assurance in Research’. More than 130 participants were present in the inauguration ceremony.

Six parallel panel presentation sessions were organized between 10am to 12 noon, in which Student Researchers’ presented their research ideas. The research presentations were assessed by two expert members (internal & external)  A total of 24 research projects were submitted and 16 research papers were presented in the panel session on 7^th December 2021. The awarding ceremony followed at 12 noon with a welcome note by IT faculty member Ms. Redjie.  Mr. Deogracias, HoS Math Section provided a summary of SITREX 2021. Ms. Amna Al-Kaabi, Head of Section for IT announced the winners for the ‘Best Student Research Awards’ Based on the evaluation of the panel members, the following were selected for the award of “Best Student Research”.

The grand SITREX 2021 event came to an end with a formal vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Salama, Head of Section for Networking Section.
